Position Overview

The Production Planning & Operations Manager will lead the end-to-end production planning and operational execution process — from demand forecasting (FCST) and sales order management to work order creation, procurement coordination, and logistics fulfillment.

This role bridges engineering and operations, ensuring smooth material flow, efficient production scheduling, and on-time delivery.

A strong focus will be on applying AI solutions to streamline workflows, optimize inventory, and enable smarter decision-making.

The Manager will also own ERP Master Data governance, maintaining accuracy across item, BOM, vendor, and routing data to enable seamless planning and reporting.

Close collaboration with the Logistics and NPI teams will be essential to optimize workflows, improve data integrity, and drive continuous operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
Planning & Scheduling/Procurement

  • Review sales forecasts (FCST) and sales orders with Sales teams to align demand and supply.
  • Lead Sales & Operations (S&OP) meetings to align production and business objectives.
  • Translate confirmed forecasts and orders into production schedules and work orders.
  • Establish and adjust production and procurement plans accordingly.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) based on confirmed demand and inventory status.
  • Utilize AI-based forecasting tools to improve demand accuracy and minimize excess inventory.


Production & Engineering Interface

  • Collaborate with Engineering and lead NPI engineers to ensure readiness for new product introductions.
  • Validate and manage BOMs, routings, and process instructions for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and drive cross-functional improvements with Manufacturing and R&D.
  • Collect and analyze production performance data to improve operational efficiency.
  • Leverage AI and data-driven analysis for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Share customer feedback and field issues with R&D and Operations to support product improvement.


ERP Master Data Management

  • Maintain and govern ERP Master Data, including
  • Item Master
  • Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure data integrity, version control, and accuracy across all modules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system alignment for planning, costing, and reporting.


Warehouse, Packaging, Logistics & Fulfillment

  • Oversee inventory accuracy, including inbound/outbound goods and stock reconciliation.
  • Ensure on-time packaging and shipment in accordance with SOPs.
  • Work with Logistics to plan shipment schedules and export documentation.
  • Drive process optimization for improved visibility, traceability, and efficiency.


Cross-functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Provide regular updates to management on production and fulfillment schedules.
  • Support teammates’ responsibilities during absences and contribute to process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using AI and automation to enhance productivity and decision-making across operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Production Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in production engineering, planning, procurement, or logistics (bio/medical device industry preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Proven expertise in BOM, work orders, MRP, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience managing ERP Master Data (Item, BOM, Vendor).
  • Knowledge of international trade and customs clearance.
  • Experience with AI-based planning and analytics tools (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • English proficiency required; Chinese preferred.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under tight deadlines.
