Research Associate, R&D Bioapplications

Curiox Biosystems is a life science technology company transforming sample preparation for cell analysis through its C-FREE™ automation platforms. Our Pluto liquid handling workstations eliminate centrifugation and enable reproducible, scalable workflows across flow cytometry and related applications.

We are seeking an entry-level Application Associate to join the Bioapplications team within the Bioapplications & Customer Experience function. This is a laboratory-based R&D role focused on assay execution, validation, and workflow innovation that supports internal teams and strengthens overall customer satisfaction.

Structured training (OJT) will be provided to build technical competency in assay workflows and automation systems within a focused R&D environment.

This position is suited for candidates who want to build strong laboratory foundations in applied bioapplications and automation.

What You’ll Do

Assay Execution & Development

  • Execute cell-based assays and sample preparation workflows (e.g., flow cytometry sample preparation).
  • Support development and optimization of bioapplication protocols on Pluto.
  • Troubleshoot experimental variability and improve workflow robustness.
  • Contribute ideas to improve assay reproducibility, clarity, and usability.

Verification & Validation

  • Perform verification and validation experiments for new or improved workflows.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical methods.
  • Prepare structured reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable documentation of protocols and results.


Laboratory & Technical Operations

  • Operate and maintain Pluto liquid handling workstations under guidance.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and safety compliance.
  • Follow internal quality and documentation standards.
  • Participate in internal technical discussions to support continuous improvement.

Who You Are

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2–3 years of laboratory experience are welcome.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined record-keeping habits.
  • Logical, structured approach to experimental work and troubleshooting.

Good to Have

  • Exposure to flow cytometry sample preparation workflows preferred (not essential).
  • Familiarity with liquid handling systems or laboratory automation.
  • Mandarin proficiency for supplier or internal cross-regional coordination (not essential).

  • Receptive to feedback and structured training.
  • Persistent in troubleshooting experimental inconsistencies.
  • Collaborative within internal R&D and customer-supporting teams.
