Position Overview

The NPI Manager will be responsible for leading the successful transition of products from design and development to full Production Release. This role requires driving cross-functional NPI projects, ensuring manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with global standards. The incumbent will also oversee redesign activities for existing products to improve performance and production efficiency.

In addition, the NPI Manager will leverage AI-driven tools and methodologies to optimize design, processes, and testing, while leading product certification activities to ensure timely and compliant market introduction. This position requires proactive problem-solving and delivering process outcomes that drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • NPI Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional NPI projects across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regulatory functions. Define project scope, deliverables, resources, and schedules to achieve on-time execution.
  • Product Certification Leadership: Oversee and lead product certification processes (safety, regulatory, and quality compliance) in collaboration with internal teams and external certification bodies. Ensure products meet international standards (e.g., CE, UL, FCC, ISO, FDA).
  • AI-Enhanced Engineering & Processes: Implement AI/ML-based tools for design optimization, process monitoring, predictive testing, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Design for Excellence (DFx): Guide design teams to adopt DFx principles to improve manufacturability, reduce cycle times, enhance assembly efficiency, lower cost, and improve quality.
  • Product Verification & Test Process: Define, implement, and continuously improve product verification and validation testing. Establish Test Processes to ensure product quality and compliance before release.
  • Assembly & Packaging: Develop and oversee assembly and packaging processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with product requirements.
  • QC SOP Development: Create and maintain QC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize inspection, testing, and quality control activities across the production lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review NPI project deliverables, timelines, and financial evaluations for manufacturing processes.
  • Manage design transfer to Manufacturing, including configuration control, BOM management, and specification release.
  • Ensure risk management through design FMEA and process validation.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to implement efficient production processes, work instructions, and testing protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, lead problem-solving initiatives, and drive improvements across design, process, and quality domains.
  • Oversee post-transfer support, including supplier management, design and process changes (ECR, ECO, NCR/CAPA), and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure alignment with ERP systems for operational effectiveness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in NPI or Product Development
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven tools for design, process optimization, and testing is a strong advantage.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional NPI projects for large-scale multidisciplinary products.
  • Experience with product certification and regulatory approval processes (CE, UL, FCC, ISO, FDA).
  • Strong background in design for manufacturability and production processes.
  • Experience in product verification, test process definition, and validation methods.
  • Experience in assembly, packaging, and QC SOP documentation.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Demonstrated experience working with full turnkey contract manufacturers.
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and independent problem solver.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven tools for design, process optimization, and testing – strong advantage.
