Dr. Joanna Brzostek and Elijah Chen, of Dr. Nicholas Gascoigne’s Laboratory at National University of Singapore, describe their use of Laminar Wash technology (FKA DA-Cell) and T-cell activation, both looking at thymocytes and peripheral T-cells. In their work they encounter some very common problems, some of which are related to looking at the T-cell signaing in the thymus and some which are more specific to looking at cytokine signaling in mature T-cells. They are working on developing a high throughput inhibitor screen to identify new mediators of TCR signaling. And for this, they need a very consistent and time efficient high throughput thymocyte activation assay.
